Beginning the SPORT Journey
Gymnastics is the foundation for all physical activity and sports. The Developmental Boys & Girls Programs are annual programs by invitation only on a year to year basis. The programs provide a solid base for the development of physical literacy ensuring that young athletes are well-equipped and confident to pursue gymnastics or another sport that may be more suited to them.

MAG COMPETITIVE LEVELS
Provincial Pathway
This program was adopted from the United States. Phoenix has implemented this program starting at level 6.
There are opportunities to compete for positions on provincial teams (i.e. Western Canadian Championships, BC Games). Training costs are dependent on the number of training hours per week and the number of local and away competitions chosen by the technical staff.
Athletes will compete based on readiness and at the discretion of the coaches.
National Stream Pathway: Aspire, Canadian Junior, and Senior
Elite athletes work on a four-year plan known as the Olympic Games Cycle (Quadrennial). Athletes who aspire to compete at the international level must meet several key factors, including age eligibility, routine content, and ability to perform under pressure.
Athletes with dual citizenship may be asked or choose to represent a country other than Canada. High-performance athletes who are not on a National Team may still have opportunities to compete internationally on behalf of their club. Coaches will determine which competitions will benefit these athletes in their pursuit of excellence, including opportunities for NCAA recruitment.
The Elite Pathway consists of four categories of competition:

-
Aspire 13-14
